"Late last year, the Department of Justice engaged the Australian Federal Police to conduct an independent review of court security for the protection of all court users. The Magistrates' Association will be consulted as part of the review. The Department is awaiting the results of the review which will help inform future improvements to court security.
"In the meantime, the Sheriff's Office has the capacity to increase court security levels in high risk cases. This can and does happen at regional courts. For operational reasons the Sheriff's Office does not publicly discuss the strategies it has in place."
