This year The Department of Justice has joined the Information and Privacy Commission of NSW as an official partner during Right to Know Week (28 Sept – 5 Oct 2014) to raise awareness about access the rights to access government information in NSW. The themes for this year’s campaign in NSW are:
Open government information: know your rights
Celebrating five years of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act) in NSW.
The initiative aligns with Right to Know Day (28 September 2014) which is an international annual event aimed at increasing awareness of individuals’ right to access government information and open, transparent governance.
The Department’s mandatory open access information is available on our website under Access to Information. The Department of Justice is also committed to releasing published information proactively. Requests for information held by the divisions of the Department can be directed to our GIPA & Privacy Officer (suggest link).
