Art Behind Bars exhibits inmates' creativity

Artworks on display at three galleries in NSW

Publication date: Tuesday, 31 May 2016

At the Boom Gate Gallery in Long Bay, the Cooma Craft Gallery in Cooma and the Girrawaa Arts Centre in Bathurst, a showcase of quality artwork by inmates of NSW correctional centres is on display for art-loving gallery-goers.

Some of the art exhibited at the three galleries is available for sale to the public, at very reasonable prices.

On occasion, a selection of works is exhibited at regional art galleries, and several pieces are hanging in government buildings including Corrective Services NSW, TAFE NSW, the Department of Education and local council premises.

Corrective Services NSW encourages visitors to drop into one of the galleries to see the pieces on display.

To see a selection of the pieces and the galleries' visiting hours, please visit the Art Behind Bars page on this website.
