Applications are now open for the NSW Department of Justice's new grants program, the Access to Justice Innovation Fund. The Fund is designed to encourage innovative ideas that will help increase access to justice in NSW, particularly for socially and economically disadvantaged communities.
The NSW Government has invested $1 million in the Fund, with grants of up to $250,000 available annually for four years (2019 – 2022).
Applications are open to non-government organisations, not-for-profit organisations, or businesses that provide services to people living in NSW. Private individuals wishing to apply may only do so through partnership with an organisational entity. Government entities are not eligible to apply.
The Access to Justice Innovation Fund is a key initiative within the Department of Justice's Civil Justice Action Plan, which was launched in December 2018. The Plan aims to help remove the barriers that prevent small businesses and individuals from getting the right information and to help resolve common disputes quickly and fairly.
The Grant Application Form, Program Guidelines and information about eligibility to apply for the grants program are available on the Department of Justice's website. Completed application forms need to be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5pm Thursday, 14 March 2019.
For any questions on the application process, call (02) 8688 2656 or email email@example.com.
